How to spot one
- ✓2-2 seating visible through the windows — no middle seats
- ✓E1 jets wear conventional upturned winglets; E2s have long raked tips instead
- ✓E2 nacelles look almost comically large for the airframe (geared turbofans)
- ✓Double-bubble fuselage cross-section gives a subtle waistline crease
Brazil's masterstroke: real mainline comfort at regional size, with a 2-2 cabin and no middle seats anywhere. The E175 is the undisputed king of the US regional network — labor scope clauses effectively wrote it into airline contracts — while the re-winged, re-engined E2 generation flies with startling quiet and efficiency. If you've taken a US connecting flight, you know this cabin.
